Kay Rogers, a producer for BAFTA award winning news programme FYI (broadcast on Sky TV), visited our news and media teams last month.
During her return visit to Hurstmere School [but her first to our amazing green screen studio] Kay asked the boys topical questions for the Your Shout segment of the FYI news programme. As temperatures soared, pupils engaged in insightful discussions about current subjects such as, is it too hot to be in school?
The young media enthusiasts had the opportunity to learn about various aspects of the industry, including journalism ethics, news reporting techniques, and the ever-evolving digital landscape we live in.
It was a great opportunity for our budding journalists to gain insights from an industry professional and showcase their skills in a real-world setting. The experience will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the pupils; a testament to the incredible potential of young talent when given the right opportunities and guidance.
We will update you when the Your Shout segment on FYI is broadcast on Sky News.
